About:

The William Sears Great North Woods Bahá'í School is one of 34 regional Bahá'í Schools in the United States. It is a summer school usually held the second or third week in August at Camp Onomia in Onamia Minnesota. Camp Onomia, surrounded by 10,000 acres of wilderness and lakes, is located near the south end of Lake Mille Lacs, on Lake Shakopee, approximately 1.5 to 2 hours north of the Twin Cities, MN. We have a well balanced program of adult and youth speakers, youth and childrens classes, afternoon workshops and recreational activities. Saturday evening is celebrated with an outdoor barbeque cook-out, followed by entertaining presentations and a dance. The Bahá'í bookstore and coffee shop are also available throughout the week.

Recreation Facilities:

Lake with sand beach, canoes, recreation hall with indoor pool, ping pong, fusbol, etc, outdoor activities such as softball, and basketball.

Accommodations:

The camp has a Retreat Center with private rooms and private baths. There are also 3 buildings of dorm style accommodations with shared bathrooms, and camping facilities. For more details and some photos, click here.
